Camino Shell I

A golden scallop shell sits at the centre of a cobalt field, the pilgrim's symbol drawn with fine radiating ribs. Baroque scrolls in white, blue and gold curl into each corner, and thin gold lines edge all four sides. It's the most traditional of the three shell tiles and suits a classic azulejo look.

At first the scallop shell was a badge pilgrims could only get in Santiago, proof that they had made it. You still see it carved on churches all along the Way.
